Sisal, Jute, Hemp & Seagrass Rug Cleaning

We clean all types of natural fibre rugs from our Dublin-based facility in Rathcoole

Natural fibre rugs are manufactured from a variety of plant materials which include sisal, jute, seagrass and hemp. They are generally hard wearing and do not readily absorb stains – especially the non-porous fibres of seagrass. The durability of natural fibre rugs makes them perfect for high traffic areas such as a hallway, family room or the kitchen.

We are proud to be Dublin’s expert natural fibre rug cleaners and our fine material specialists know everything there is about natural fibres and how to care for, refresh and clean a natural fibre rug.

What Makes Us Dublin’s Premium Natural Fibre Rug Cleaning Service?

Our rug cleaning business has a team of fine material specialists at its core who hold a degree in fine art history and have been internationally trained in the art of rug cleaning. Our understanding of how different natural fibres are made, how each one reacts to dirt and liquids, and specialised rug cleaning tools and machinery enable us to clean all types of natural fibre rugs.

We Can Remove up to 99% of Stains

Natural fibre rugs are incredibly stain-resistant, however, that trait does not make them immune to staining. Our experts will examine every inch of your rug, map out and then identity each stain. Stain identification helps us better plan our approach to removing them. It aids us in choosing the right technique and products that can effectively remove 99% of stains without causing damage or bleaching your rug.

We Understand How Natural Fibres Are Made

Our fine material experts understand how natural fibres are manufactured and the pros and cons of each one. Jute, for example, is grown from shiny green stalks. It is soft and almost resembles wool, but its softness makes it the least durable natural fibre. Sea Grass, on the other hand, is stain resistant and highly durable. It is grown in saltwater marshes and is non-porous and stain resistant, making it the perfect fibre for bathroom or kitchen rugs.

We Understand How Dry Dirt Affects a Natural Fibre Rug

Dry dirt and dust are the biggest culprits that soil your rug. It makes up about 85%-95% of the dirt and it is important to properly remove it before wet cleaning a natural fibre rug. If not properly removed, it will turn into a muddy slush that could cause further staining and discolouration. An often-overlooked fact about dry dirt is that it can cause the fibres to fray and eventually break. The mechanical action of walking agitates dry dirt particles, causing them to act like sandpaper and abrade away the fibres.
